Description
Finding facilitative contexts (carefully chosen words that encourage a clear speech sound) can accelerate therapy progress, allowing many SLPs to skip the isolation + elicitation phase altogether!
If you feel like you have exhausted every trick to elicit a clear sound, but you haven’t screened for possible facilitative contexts, this could be the missing piece.
Sounds included in this bundle: ‘s’, ‘k’, ‘g’, ‘l’, ‘sh’, ‘ch’, and ‘j’
With reviews like this (below) why WOULDN’T you try this??!!
“Tried this with a lateral kid… and I finally got a clear ‘s’ production… we’ve worked for years with different cues and strategies and nothing worked”
“I was finally able to elicit the /k/ in context utilizing this resource”
Based on evidence, the Facilitative Contexts bundle packet allows you to probe a child’s productions in words that give the best chance of producing a clear sound. Then we have the therapy materials to consolidate that new sound using our word lists and printable activities before moving on to a traditional articulation or phonology approach.

this is such a dynamic package

Like all AISP materials, this is super well-organized, complete, and useful. Rebecca has already identified the most likely facilitative contexts for each target sound, and put examples of words with those contexts onto one page so that you can screen for them easily. Once the facilitative context for your client has been established, there are plenty of opportunities for practice. All the work has already been done for you! Which is why I love AISP materials. Working with kids with speech sound disorders, these materials are well worth the investment.
