Are you looking for that missing piece of the sound elicitation puzzle? Have you ever wondered how to find the words that will give your therapy client the best chance at starting therapy with success?

Our Facilitative Contexts Bundle will help you get there.  We have bundled together our popular Facilitative Contexts products for commonly target sounds S, K, G, CH, J, SH, L and R.  For each sound, there is an explanation of why these word contexts give our best chance of eliciting a child’s clearest sound, a screener, therapy cards, and 5 high-trial practice sheets for 9 different word contexts (use in sessions or send for homework!).

A great first step for successful therapy. Spend time consolidating the child’s best productions before moving on to articulation or phonological therapy approaches. Save yourself time – everything is ready to be printed and used in your session!

Description

Are you working with an articulation client who seems like they’re just not stimulable for their sounds (e.g., they have a lateral lisp) and all the “usual cues” just haven’t worked? Finding facilitative contexts (carefully chosen words that encourage a clear speech sound) can accelerate therapy progress, allowing many SLPs to skip the isolation + elicitation phase altogether!

If you feel like you have exhausted every trick to elicit a clear sound, but you haven’t screened for possible facilitative contexts, this could be the missing piece.

Sounds included in this bundle:

With reviews like this (below) why WOULDN’T you try this??!!

“Tried this with a lateral kid… and I finally got a clear ‘s’ production… we’ve worked for years with different cues and strategies and nothing worked”

“I was finally able to elicit the /k/ in context utilizing this resource”

Based on evidence, the Facilitative Contexts bundle packet allows you to probe a child’s productions in words that give the best chance of producing a clear sound. Then we have the therapy materials to consolidate that new sound using our word lists and printable activities before moving on to a traditional articulation or phonology approach.

DOWNLOAD THIS RESOURCE IF YOU WANT TO:

What SLPs like you are saying:

“I LOVE this so much ! this has changed the way I approach articulation therapy. I never thought about how vowels affect the consonant sounds. This breaks it down and takes out the hard part of me needing to created a screening form to see how consonants are affected by vowels.”

“This resource is a lifesaver for tricky articulation cases when usual cues don’t work. The screener is quick and effective, and the materials make it easy to get high-repetition practice in the right contexts. I am so thankful that Rebecca’s goal is to bridge the gap between research and practicing SLPs. I had to buy this resource after watching her PD on Choosing the Best Words for Articulation Therapy Using Facilitative Contexts and used it immediately! Thank you!

  6. Cortnee A.

Thank you for creating this resource! The screeners have been very helpful to quickly determine how each student can be most successful in producing different sound targets at the word level.

  7. Molly (verified owner)

Like all AISP materials, this is super well-organized, complete, and useful. Rebecca has already identified the most likely facilitative contexts for each target sound, and put examples of words with those contexts onto one page so that you can screen for them easily. Once the facilitative context for your client has been established, there are plenty of opportunities for practice. All the work has already been done for you! Which is why I love AISP materials. Working with kids with speech sound disorders, these materials are well worth the investment.

  8. kristin J.

I love these. It has been really helpful when working with those student’s that have a difficult time with correct production of the targeted sound. Using the facilitative contexts has helped me as a clinician and them to feel more successful during the session.

  15. Susie C.

I’ve bought many of the ASIP resources. I really loved this resource as I had used ASIP principals of facilitative contexts mentioned on Instagram but this packet put everything really nicely together. And really helpful for not having to think of words, positions etc on the fly in assessments. Super happy to have this bundle in my arsenal for current and future speechie students!

  16. Taylor F.

This is such a helpful tool! I wish I would have had it earlier!

  17. Michelle I.

This is the resource of my dreams! It makes probing and eliciting sounds so much easier and ultimately helps my kids make faster progress. It also pairs perfectly with AISP Speech Activities for Home Practice resource. Rebecca, I know you’re based in Australia but PLEASE consider making a facilitative packet for initial and medial ‘r’ for all those North American SLPs struggling to elicit the same :P!!

  18. Natasha S.

These materials are helpful for teasing out what works best for eliciting these sounds for my elementary school kiddos and the ones at middle school who are struggling still (a student with /k/ issues because of hearing loss and repaired cleft palate).

  19. Christine H.

This resource is amazing and has everything you need, step by step, (and somethings that you never knew you needed!) to provide the minimal pairs approach with fidelity. Rebecca has created a wonderful and organized material that is simple to use. I highly recommend!!

  20. Jenni G.

This has been wonderful for my students with more severe speech-sound disorders. I have tackled sounds with success where I previously would have avoided them.
I love when your products have screeners! It really guides my therapy.
    Thanks!

  24. Lindsey T.

If I could buy every resource that Adventures in Speech Pathology makes, I would in a heartbeat! As a graduate student, this was an amazing purchase that allowed me to find the context students were the most successful in when producing certain phonemes. I will continue to use this resource into my CFY and beyond!

  25. Stacey D.

All of these cards are super helpful for my artic students! These are my go-tos for artic therapy

  26. Kim V.

Such a comprehensive helpful resource to help students achieve their articulation goals as fast as possible with this technique!

Hands down the most useful resource I have purchased this school year. Rebecca just helps makes things click and allows for those “aw ha” moments! “Know better do better!”

  28. Taylor H.

This resource is amazing! The screening tool has allowed me to see which contexts help facilitate our target sounds so that students experience success in sessions while solidifying their production of our target sounds. The target cards are engaging and there is a great variety. I have used this resource consistently since I purchased and I am so glad to have it!

  29. Nancy Mrozek

    Hello!
I am wondering if/when a ‘facilitative context’ screener might become available to purchase for the R sound??!!! Obviously, this would be a sold out product!!! Perhaps you’re working on this product, hopefully??!! I love all of the resources that you so graciously provide as well as your expertise in articulation therapy.
Thank you for all you do for SLP’s!

    • Rebecca Reinking

      Hi Nancy,

Thanks so much for your lovely message — I really appreciate you taking the time to share such kind words!

And yes… you’ve read my mind! We do have an R Sound Facilitative Contexts resource currently in the works. It’s one of those projects I’ve been thinking about for a long time, and I’m finally pulling all of the clinical ideas together in a way that I hope will be super practical and easy for SLPs to use.

I don’t have an exact release date just yet, but if you’re subscribed to the AISP newsletter or following along on Instagram, you’ll definitely be one of the first to hear when it’s ready.

Thanks again for your support — it means a lot 💛

  30. Sydney L.

Where has facilitative contexts been all this time?!?! This resource has been life changing when it comes to evaluating a student’s ability to produce various sounds. After learning about Facilitative Contexts at my first SLP Summit, I immediately ran to purchase this bundle! I have used it for multiple students, and it has definitely helped me find a place to start. One of my students was consistently fronting during their evaluation, but when I completed this with them, they were able to produce final /k/ independently, so we worked on final /k/ before moving onto other positions.

  31. Joanne P.

This has been an extremely helpful resource to support choosing speech sound targets for students. It has helped to increase their feelings of success, knowing more about which contexts work best to help them make their sounds correctly.

  32. Elizabeth S.

Who doesn’t love the adventures in speech pathology resources? Love these!

  33. Debra A.

I have several resources from Adventures in Speech Pathology and they never disappoint. The kids love the quick activities and I love the easy setup!

  34. Tiffany L.

I discovered facilitative contexts in practice before I realized it was actually a thing. I love the research behind everything that Adventures in Speech Pathology does. I loved seeing the facilitative contexts that she has provided. It makes my work so much easier!!

  35. Tamra Cameron (verified owner)

This is an amazing tool to use in screening students to identify context for sound production. I’m so excited about the new r bundle that will be coming soon!

  36. Veronica Verigin (verified owner)

I am so impressed with this product! It makes it easy to use facilitative contexts and really makes it easy to figure out what contexts benefit the child. I feel like my therapy is much more focused and like I have a plan right off the bat, which is fantastic!

  37. Belinda (verified owner)

Thank you AISP! Having the facilitative contexts resource has saved me so much time and is extremely useful! Will the r facilitative context resource be available for purchse individually for people who purchased the bundle before the ‘r release’?! Thanks again Rebecca- for sharing your resources, and with such passion!

    • Paul Reinking

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I’m so glad to hear that the Facilitative Contexts resource has been saving you time and proving useful in your practice.

When the r Facilitative Contexts resource is released, it will automatically be added to the bundle. Since you already own the bundle, it will appear in your My Account at no extra cost.

Thanks again for your kind words and for supporting AISP—it means so much!

  38. Christina B.

Extremely helpful for speech therapy! Rebecca always produces amazing products!

  39. Shannon S.

This is an extremely thorough resource. Not only are there pages explaining the theory of facilitative contexts and providing background information, but this resource also covers a screening to find the contexts students are most successful in producing the targeted sounds, as well as loads of activities to practice the correct productions and facilitate transfer of the correct production to other sound contexts. I am finding this bundle to be an especially good resource to help my student clinicians or SLPA interns understand how to select target words for students to practice and why I may use different words with students working on the same sounds.

  40. Melinda H.

I purchased this last week and have already used the ‘ch’ screener; with more clients in mind. I have previously used some of the screening resources before from the handbooks. But I love how these target the sound in a range of positions AND also with different vowels or consonants. The activities will also be fun to use for sessions and home practice.

  41. Jill C.

I bought this as a bundle just in case when at the time I needed the k and g and the /l/. I am so glad I did! I had a kiddo who really struggled with sh and ch. None of my typical strategies seemed to help. I remembered I had this resource and was amazed that some of the contexts were actually facilitative! She’s producing sh very consistently and ch is coming right along!
I was also pleasantly surprised when I went to go buy the facilitative contexts for /r/ last week that it was automatically added to my bundle! Thank you Rebecca for always knowing exactly what we need!

  42. Josie L.

Lets you get to work right away and facilitates efficiently and best practice. Love this resource!

  43. Nora M.

This is one of the best resources that any SLP can have in their tool box. I bought the bundle to make sure I could cover anyone on my caseload. All my students enjoy the practice and it is great to know just where to begin for success.

  44. mary C.

Much like anything made by Adventures in Speech Pathology, this is a great resource! I used the facilitative contexts when starting to work on a new sound with students to help determine what coarticulation strategies might be helpful when picking target words. I love this resource!

  45. Kristian A.

This resource is a lifesaver for tricky articulation cases when usual cues don’t work. The screener is quick and effective, and the materials make it easy to get high-repetition practice in the right contexts. It’s evidence-based, low-prep, and has really helped move stuck students forward. Highly recommend!

  46. Carolyn R.

a must have for any SLP to provide effective articulation therapy, especially when time is limited, just straight to words that are functional

  47. Alexandria M.

This works great for a variety of students so glad I got this material.

  48. Sandy P.

I got this during a TPT sale and it was well worth the price. It has made a difference in getting successful productions quicker. They I have been able to build up to using sounds correctly in other contexts.

  49. Warda (verified owner)

Love this resource. It makes planning therapy quick and efficient . I then can focus my time on providing the dosage and face to face therapy.

  50. Jacqui (verified owner)

Just like every other AISP resource I’ve purchased, this resource pack has taken all the prep work out so I can focus on delivering sessions with results. Thanks Rebecca for the well laid-out structure of the resources and the range of facilitative contexts that are meaningful for children.

  51. Samantha E.

This resource took all the hard prep work out of finding words in different contexts, paired in different ways, etc. and made it easy to find a student’s articulatory strengths and weaknesses and help them feel success.

  52. Brianne L.

I immediately purchased this after watching the presentation on facilitative contexts. I love when there are premade materials to carry out ideas!

  53. Diana H.

Love this resource. It has helped me identify where to start working with students with articulation and not getting stuck in isolation for too long and finding contexts where my students are more successful to build confidence and increase student’s participation.

  54. Melissa Monsted (verified owner)

The audacity of this resource’s ability to help make the MOST efficient progress for my clients is unheard of! It is an absolute dream and I cannot thank AISP for continuing to make incredible resources that are evidence-based and kept up-to-date. Do yourself and your clients a favour and purchase this.
