Students simply say their target words, “fin-thin” and can then drag the images across to the picture. It’s fun, meaningful, and allows your student to increase their practice trials of the target words.
➊ — FAMILIARIZATION: Familiarize the student with the minimal pair targets.
➋ — AUDITORY DISCRIMINATION: Use a ❝point to the one I say❞ task and then drag the target word image to the picture. There are five opportunities for each word. You can encourage multiple practices before dragging the image across if you want to increase your practice trials.
➌ — WORD TASKS: ask the child to say the word pairs. They can also tell you which picture they want to drag across and move it if they say the word correctly. If they say the word incorrectly, provide pragmatic feedback such as ❝ Do you mean X or Y?❞

What SLP’s like you are saying:
❝ Really helpful resource to help students hear and see the difference between f/th. Great pictures, tons of opportunity for practice, and worked well for actual sessions and for at-home learning.❞
❝ Easy to use and highly engaging!❞
❝ I used this today with a child who uses cochlear implants and sometimes has difficulty discriminating between “th” and “f”. This was a great visual to help her figure out which sound was needed!❞
❝ Thank you for sharing this wonderful interactive Minimal Pairs activity that can be used at either the word or phrase level. I loved it so much I bought the entire bundle. Thanks again!❞
