I’m open to receiving feedback and questions on this therapy clip! As an SLP who aims to “practice at the top of my license” (as @classlab_kelly @cari.ebert.seminars advocate), I regularly re-watch my therapy clips to reflect and learn!

So, keeping it professional, I’m open to hearing what you think on this session that was focusing on generalization of /s/.

I have many different types of cues up my sleeve for students who present with a frontal lisp… but the play dough tongue HAS to be a favourite of mine because it’s so big, visual, and easy to manipulate!

So… have you ever found this to work for your students?

These lips 👄 they’ll only make the sound more distorted!!

If you’re child does this, try:
1️⃣ sitting side-by-side in front of a mirror
2️⃣ tell the child their lips need to look like a circle ⭕️
3️⃣ you have to be able to see their front teeth touching (or nearly touching). DON’T LET THE LIPS HIDE THE TEETH

All our “ch” elicitation tips come from the Ch & J Sound Handbook - link in profile!

I love this bundle. The picture cards are colorful and fun. The included charts are understandable. I just love it all. Thank you.

  2. Allison J. (verified owner)

This is an amazing resource. It has helped make OME as fun as possible. I have been able to complete them with children that otherwise would have been very hesitant to engage in the exam. Thanks for your creative resource. Love the digital version!

  3. Anna Y. (verified owner)

This is a great resource for SLPs who have younger students with SSDs on their caseloads. The pictures where engaging, especially for younger students. The screener was also more thorough than other screeners in terms of screening for different sounds in different syllable shapes!

  4. Sarah S. (verified owner)

This is such a great resource. I love the graphics and that they have little notes included for what we, as the clinicians can say!

  5. Maya A. (verified owner)

This was SUPER helpful to not only help the young children I work with understand my instructions for the OME, but keep them engaged as well because they wanted to flip to the next picture and see what’s next. This made OMEs for young kids a breeze!

  6. Julie Ane L W. (verified owner)

I love the format of this screener. The data sheet is so easy to use and read after the screening.

  7. Chantel (verified owner)

Brilliant!! VERY helpful and user friendly.

  8. Allison M. (verified owner)

I find the images and activities very engaging. Works so well with teletherapy

  9. Lajreena S. (verified owner)

This resource makes OME so fun and engaging for little ones! The visuals are adorable and the kids love it!
