Description
Have you ever had a parent tell you, “They won’t do their speech homework”? Are you wanting to provide fun and engaging speech therapy ideas for home practice, but struggle to find activities to send home? Do you want to help parents’ complete homework, but don’t have any sheets or handouts to give them?
As SLPs, we know how to use articulation cards with a variety of games to make speech practice fun… but this might not come naturally to parents and caregivers! From ideas such as hide n seek with articulation cards, to playing What’s Missing? dice throw and using a feely bag. The seasoned SLP might get a few new ideas to add to their repertoire too!
DOWNLOAD THIS RESOURCE IF YOU WANT TO:
➊ — Provide fun, simple therapy games and activities for home
➋ — Help families be more confident completing speech homework
➌ — Create home programs and packets that are parent-friendly
➍ — Increase your communication and problem-solving skills with home practice
Speech Activities for Home Practice is broken down into THREE sections to help you:
- GAMES TO PLAY: You will find a parent letter, as well as 32 games and activities to play using articulation cards. You have two varieties of handouts; one that contains 4 activities per page, and then 32 single-paged games (such as ‘memory’, ‘ hide n seek’, and ‘playing shopping’). Ideas for word, phrase, and sentence level are included.
- HOME PRACTICE SHEETS & FORMS: Send home a variety of home practice planning sheets, therapy feedback forms, handouts, and home practice tracking sheets. Six of these sheets have been converted to single-page editable files so that you can email them to families to complete and send back.
- HOMEWORK TIP SHEETS: Each of the six pages contains 5 ‘tips’ that might help families and caregivers provide, complete, and individualize home practice with their child.
⭐ THIS RESOURCE DOES NOT CONTAIN ARTICULATION CARDS. To use the majority of these pages, you will need a set of articulation cards. I have combined this resource with Articulation Cards in a discounted bundle called “The Speech Essentials Kit” ⭐

I love these activity sheets to provide to families for home practice – there are so many ideas and families have really appreciated not having to come up with ideas on their own. I love all of Adventures in Speech Pathology materials. This is no exception.
