In those early therapy days, when you are teaching a child a new sound, you can be pulling out SO MANY tips, tricks, and cues to see what helps them. And many times, it’s one little thing; a prompt, cue, gesture, or metaphor that clicks with that child. And I NEED TO WRITE IT DOWN.
I want everyone who is practicing and working with that child to know what to say as well. I want you to download this free set of speech reminder cards for your students, and get in the habit of writing down those successful cues. They feature diverse boys and girls so that hopefully, your student can pick a card of a child who looks similar to them!
I’ve printed them out on colored paper, and keep a stack at my desk so that I can always write the cues down when I need.
