For example:
👉🏼 Full vs. pull or bull
👉🏼 See vs. tea or D
👉🏼 Show vs. toe or dough

Who knew the simple act of putting cards “in the bin” would elicit so many trials and keep her motivated?

This whole activity elicited over 60 trials of her “sh” sound 👏

Sometimes children need to SEE what they’re actually saying!!!

I’ve been working on complex clusters (words starting with “spl”) and one of my students finds it very hard to connect all three of the sounds together AND judge whether he used all three sounds.

So we played around with these Cluster Cues (from @bjoremspeech) to show him what he was saying.

TIP: show the child a real train set first to tech the concept that some words are like trains, and they need an engine, or starting sound to pull the rest of the carriages (or sounds) along!

Parents and caregivers: finding books at home or at the library that feature your “special sound”, or sounds that you are working on, can be a great way to incorporate speech practice at home!

See how I didn’t make this shared reading too hard? She had two words to practice using her “sh” sound correctly: shark and fish… and I love how she self-corrected and “fixed” her sound too 😍

I absolutely love this therapy approach for my school aged children with CAS who have had previous intervention and are more mild.

Working on sounds + prosody in one intervention is so helpful for these kids (especially when they present with equal stress and segmentation).
