It’s official SLPs. You don’t have to work for Lonely Planet to get paid to travel.
Dr Seus was right when he coined the phrase “Oh! The places you’ll go…”, and yes SLPs, the opportunities are endless. Pack your car and drive for a couple of days to a town that you never knew existed in a challenging but rewarding rural and remote setting. Why not work abroad in a place where your SLP credentials are already recognised? You’ll soon find that SLPs do it slightly differently in every country. And for those who just want to grab that backpack, memorise their phrasebook and immerse themselves in another culture, then there are plenty of volunteer and internship positions around the world waiting for someone like you!
