November 1 @ 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
F2F – Full Day Event – Rydges Newcastle
Synopsis
Given the variety of available options, speech pathologists can find it challenging to choose the “right” phonological intervention for speech sound disorders.
In this full-day course focused on bridging the gap between research and clinical practice, we will delve into the foundational principles for working with children with speech sound disorders in real-life clinical settings.
By comparing and contrasting the age recommendations, severity, stimulability considerations, intensity guidelines, steps, and live demonstrations of five different phonological interventions (stimulability approach, cycles approach, complexity approach, minimal pairs, and multiple oppositions), participants will learn how to choose and provide rationales for selecting an intervention approach that best fits each child’s needs.
Rebecca combines engaging lecture-style learning with hands-on, small-group interactive sessions designed to enhance your skills and knowledge. Get ready for some dynamic learning, evolving case studies and problem-solving designed to challenge SLPs’ decision-making process, just like it does in the therapy room!
Participants will receive exclusive, high-quality digital handouts you come to expect from Rebecca in the form of summary sheets, forms, and questionnaires to support SLPs’ practice when they return to their workplace.
